Does your relationship with food or the way you think about your body keep you from living a life that is most meaningful to you? Do you generally feel anxious and second guess yourself rather than finding calm and presence in each moment? Life is already filled with numerous challenges, so when eating and body image concerns take up a great deal of your time and energy, you can feel hopeless and disconnected from who you are and the things you value.

My hope for you is freedom from these burdens and greater connection to yourself, the people, and things that bring you joy. Through therapy, together you and I can work to tame these internal conflicts, external demands, reduce emotional distress, and build a more compassionate and self assured outlook toward yourself and life.

My Approach

It is my intention to create a safe, caring, and supportive environment for you to express what needs to be heard. I strive to be an authentic human and therapist that can support you and guide you to connect with the hope and inner wisdom you possess.

My theoretical orientation toward therapy is a humanistic, client-centered approach. This just means I welcome you with open arms, however you show up and whatever your needs are each time we meet are welcome. While I accept you as you are, I may not condone harmful  behaviors. However, I know they developed for a reason and we can explore them and see why they are here. I hope that you and I can work together to overcome challenges that have brought you to therapy and bring you closer to living in alignment with your values.

My Journey and Education

I earned my Masters in Counseling and Art Therapy at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. Since 2019 I have worked as a therapist treating eating disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, and ARFID) in PHP and IOP levels of care. In addition to this experience I also worked at my community mental health facility to support individuals recovering from substance misuse and trauma. My experiences have shown me the courage it takes to seek therapy and given me the greatest respect for my clients. Therapy is hard work and please know that you are worth it. There is a whole life waiting for you on the other side of your comfort zone.

I work with adults and adolescents struggling with disordered eating, body image distress, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance misuse, phase of life issues, OCD, and relational problems.

Online Therapy

Your time is valuable and having to travel to a therapist’s office can sometimes be a barrier to getting the support you want and deserve. I use HIPAA-compliant video software that allows you to participate in the comfort and privacy of your own home. Sessions function the same way as in-person counseling without the added time and cost of travel.
