Life can sometimes be tumultuous and overwhelming. Maybe all too frequently you have found yourself in this position without a safe place to land. You may have felt trapped by shame, guilt, negative thoughts and beliefs about yourself and your body and are not sure where to turn. Perhaps you have frequently tried to be"okay" and pretend that everything is fine without much success.

Or maybe you are wanting to explore roadblocks in your life that keep you from being your most authentic self. This may be your first step towards beginning a healing journey for yourself or it may be part of a very long process that you have attempted to embark on many times. I can begin to help you explore and confront difficulties that have arisen for you on the journey of life and begin to explore a different perspective. Sometimes a shift in perspective can be one of the most powerful, healing things that we can experience.

My Approach

I am passionate and driven regarding helping individuals become their most authentic self through caring and compassion. I believe that the process of therapy is an individual and unique one for each person and should be tailored as such and that a "one size fits all" approach does not work. My goal is to help each individual explore their unique gifts and abilities and what keeps them stuck in being able to more fully access their authentic self.

My therapeutic approach is a holistic one utilizing various treatment modalities and techniques to help each individual look at thoughts, beliefs, somatic concerns and ways in which they relate to the world and others. My therapeutic approach utilizes elements of attachment based therapies, body based therapies, and cognitive behavioral therapies. I believe that each individual deserves to have their needs addressed from a non-judgmental, caring and compassionate stance.

My Journey

My journey has always been one of focusing on helping others heal. I have experienced the ups and downs of having a family member struggle with an Eating Disorder and the process of healing that can be possible with this. I have always been drawn to helping others heal and started with having a natural ability to do so. I believe that it takes tremendous courage to reach out for help and believe that it is an honor to be a part of the healing process. My early career focused on working with children who had experienced abuse and neglect and led me into working with trauma and eating disorders.

I have worked in a variety of settings with trauma and eating disorders including residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings. As well as I have worked with a variety of different concerns such as: Trauma, Eating Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Relationship Issues, Substance Abuse and other co-occurring issues. I have also developed and run eating disorder programs with the ability to focus on healing and development of the whole person. These experiences have provided me with a wealth of knowledge, experience, compassion and humility when working with eating disorders and negative body image that I bring into every therapeutic interaction.
