The pressures we face in today's world are multifaceted and, in combination with past experiences, can be the perfect storm for self-doubt, shame, and feeling 'not good enough'. We can start to feel short on coping strategies; as the ones we have been using are no longer working for us and often have resulted in additional challenges, such as in the case of eating disorders and addictive behaviors.
I help my clients navigate life's challenges with compassion, non-judgement & humor. We work together on building up your inherent strengths (yes you have them), learning new coping strategies and making space for more adaptive ways of relating to the world. I use a Mindfulness based approach in my work because I have seen it help so many people to be more present, intentional and content in their lives (myself included!). I enjoy teaching people how to slow down, take pauses and allow space for decision making.
Your time is valuable and having to travel to a therapist office can sometimes be a barrier to getting the support you want and deserve. Studies have shown that video-therapy can be equally as effective as in-person therapy. I use HIPAA compliant video software allowing you to participate in the comfort and privacy of your own home. Sessions function the same way as in-person therapy without the added time & cost of travel.
From a very young age, I have been passionate about helping others and advocating for those who had trouble doing so for themselves. I often found myself lending an ear to family, friends, and even strangers who felt I was easy to talk to and I was always fascinated by human behavior. What I love most about being a therapist is how much I learn and am inspired by my clients. It is a true privilege to be let in to someone's inner world and to support people through their process of change.
How Can I Support You?
